Shot for the spring/summer collection two years ago, this is one of my favourite lookbook videos ever created by Cav Empt. The initial scene of an endless grid and constantly shifting sky animation induces an eccentric feeling that is signature to Cav Empt’s identity and creates the perfect setting. It transitions into a darker surrounding that instantly changes the mood with the dim lighting and a muted colour palette. The repetitive track by none other than the notorious Zomby gives a sense of progression and compliments the intense but smooth editing throughout. Also, the styling is top notch and Zomby really plays his cool and nonchalant masked character in a way that gently grips and holds the attention of the viewer from start to finish.
This video was one of the first glimpses I had into the world of Cav Empt and it has evolved into a highly provocative and refreshing brand that manages to draw me in every season to see what new designs and products they have in store.
