Sick ass music videos as of late

Been seeing some really great visuals from many artists lately.. here are some im feeling in particular.

Coworker ive never met in person worked on this. Really really great track and video, moody and melancholy. Dig the style a lot, not a repeat of regurgitated and saturated sounds. Looking forward to more from this artist.

This one is crazy. Pure visual viscera over top an over the top as fuck beat. Genius in all the unexpected ways. (seizure warning)

Asap rocky! Always consistent. Classic moby sample. L$D was one of the sickest videos, this one is a smooth follow up that carries over complex and visually stunning transitions like in L$D. As always.. stylish the whole way thru.

Shouts out pierre and his crew for getting all this way. Really inspiring. I don’t listen to much hip hop outside the club these days but this is on heavy repeat. Production is slick and the music video is suiting. Reminds me of when i first started listening to travis scott but killys style is from and for a newer generation.

Feel like this is becoming a homie shout out post now haha. My dude christian b.a out in montreal doing it bigger and better! Song is pure jams too. Missy elliot nod is my fav part, both in the song and video. Lou phelps wearing some clean threads too.

Last one. This ones an oldie but a goodie. Watched this one when i was in highschool a while ago. The synths and muffledish vocals are instantly mesmerizing and the animation style was refreshing. Halfway through the video a huge twist takes it to a completely unforeseen place.. it gets super weird and kind of scarred me as a teen which made it grotesquely memorable. The movie “The Void” slightly reminds me of this.

Lately (pt.2)

Last time I did this sort of post was exactly six months ago, February 29th! How time flies.. Lots of things have changed. Life is all about new experiences and meeting new people and new experiences to experience with the new people you meet right? But this is not about life but about music and some tracks I have been listening to lately. Enjoy.

A smooth, mellow tune for the summertime sadness approaching or maybe just those nights where melancholy follows you all day. Maybe you’re hanging with your boyfriend or girlfriend on the beach and just staring into eachother’s eyes for the first time. Maybe you’re that ‘other one’ that she loves and some guy is listening to this song thinking about her so much.. or trying his hardest not to. Maybe you’re the girl and you’re contemplating your relationships with everyone around you and what they mean. Who knows? I don’t!

Reflection

Digging this recent video for Reflection by Towkio on his new album .WAV Theory. Directed by Peter Collins and Towkio himself, the video is set in an all too familiar house party with abundant drug abuse and conflict of interests and analyzes the effects of these actions. The track is produced by none other than Kaytranada with his signature sound and graced with Towkio’s unique voice and profound lyrics. I remember listening to him when he still called himself Tokyo Shawn and had only a couple thousand views on youtube and now he’s rising to become one of the top new artists this year. Give the album a listen, another one of my favourite tracks is ‘Free Your Mind’ that has a really  groovy, feel good vibe to it; just in time for summer.
